Herein are the questions, with responses, most frequently asked by members and visitors to this site.
Yes. Park Christian School Athletic Club (Falcon Boosters) is a 501(c)(3) and a public charity under section 509(a)(2) of the Internal Revenue Code. This allows for contributions, donations and gifts granted to us to be deductible under section 170 of the code.
Yes, and no. The entire membership fee, less any gifts, including store discounts, received as entitlements of said membership over the course of the tax year, is tax deductible. For example, if your membership fee was $250, and you received as membership entitlements a Falcon Booster shirt, a ten-game punch card and $18.00 in store discounts over the course of the same tax year, you would anticipate a tax receipt looking something like this:
Tax receipts will be distributed in early January for the previous tax year.
Tax receipts for membership fees will be generated at the end of the tax year and distributed to all members in early January. We are required to distribute in this fashion because we are required by tax law to deduct from the taxable amount of the membership fee the reasonable value of gifts, including store discounts, received as entitlements of said membership over the course of the tax year.
